31-year-old Indian-origin man shot dead in car
Washington: A 31-year-old Indian-origin man was shot dead in the US city of New York. In Queen’s area, the man was sitting in the parking area in his borrowed SUV car.
The incident comes days after an Indian man was shot dead in the head in the US state of Maryland.
According to the New York Daily News, Satnam Singh was sitting in the back seat in a black jeep at around 3:45 pm on Saturday afternoon at South Ozone Park when he was shot.
Police said Satnam Singh lived at a distance from the area where he was shot. Police said Singh was rushed to the hospital after being shot in the chest and neck but he died during the treatment.
It is learnt that Singh had borrowed the car from his friend some time ago and he had come to pick someone up.
Those investigating the case are trying to find out whether the “gunmen came to kill Satnam Singh or they wanted to kill the owner of the SUV and they did not know who was inside.” So far, no arrests have been made in the case. According to the police, the gunmen approached Satnam Singh on foot, but neighbours said the bullet was fired from a silver-coloured sedan car, the report said.
