Russia bans US Vice President Harris, 61 Canadians from entering country
Washington: Amid continuing war between Russia and Ukraine, authorities of Russia, which is facing economic sanctions from western countries, has now banned the entry of 29 Americans and 61 Canadians, including US Vice President Kamala Harris and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
Earlier, U.S. President Joe Biden announced on Thursday a new program for Ukrainian refugees, named “Unite for Ukraine”. It enables asylum-seeking Ukrainian refugees to enter the United States directly from Europe. “I am announcing a program, “Unite for Ukraine” – a new program, which enables Ukrainian refugees to come directly to the United States from Europe.
Biden also announced $800 million in new military aid to Ukraine. He said he would talk to Congress to expand Ukraine’s military aid. The President said the $13.6 billion that Congress had sanctioned for military and humanitarian aid last month had “almost expired”.
