NIA places Rs 10 lakh reward on Khalistan Tiger Force chief Hardeep Singh Nijjar in priest murder case
New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh for the head of Canada-based Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) in connection with the killing of Pujari in Punjab’s Jalandhar last year.
The reward was announced on Friday on wanted terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar hailing from Phillaur in Jalandhar. Three weeks ago the agency had filed a chargesheet against Nijjar and three persons in connection with the attack on priest.
The NIA has shared email addresses besides the telephone, WhatsApp and telegram numbers of its Delhi headquarters and Chandigarh branch office so that people can give information about Nijjar.
The NIA had filed a chargesheet on July 5 against four persons, including Nijjar, in connection with the conspiracy to kill priest Kamaldeep Sharma by the KTF in Phillaur on January 31 last year.
The agency had taken over the investigation of the case on October 8, 2021. The three others named in the chargesheet include Kamaljit Sharma and Ram Singh alias Sona who attacked Pujari on the directions of Nijjar and his associate Arshdeep Singh alias Prabh.
According to the NIA, the investigation has revealed that the entire conspiracy was hatched by Canadian-origin accused Nijjar with the intention of killing the priest to disturb peace and communal harmony in Punjab.
