Mayoral poll in Surrey and Vancouver turning into multi-corner contest

Vancouver: With the contest for mayoral election in British Columbia’s two largest cities are becoming crowded rapidly, it has raised the possibility that winning candidate could win the elections with significantly less than 50% share vote this October.

In Surrey, Liberal MP Sukh Dhaliwal, former B.C. Liberal MLA Gordie Hogg, former as the ex-MP Jinny Sims, Coun. Brenda Locke, and incumbent mayor Dough McCallum, are already in the race for mayoral election. Each has their own different parties.

Similarly, Vancouver has five candidates for the mayoral post including incumbent mayor Kennedy Stewart. However, the city also has 10 political parties at the municipal level.

Pertinently, the both seats are crucial for both mayor and council elections in the Canadian election.
