Ahead of election, Quebec auditor general Leclerc to release review on province’s finances today
Ontario: Ahead of the Municipal Election, Quebec’s auditor general is releasing her review of the finance minister’s pre-election report on the province’s finances today.
Guylaine Leclerc auditor general has been tasked to ascertain whether the financial forecast, estimates and assumptions made before October Provincial election are plausible.
The pre-election financial report will be presented by Finance Minister Eric Girard after Leclerc releases her review today.
The aim of review by Guylaine Leclerc is to determine that political party that wins the October 3 poll cannot claim that it is flabbergasted by an unexpected deficit or surplus after it takes the office.
The report will give same framework to all political parties to work to produce costed election platforms.
She would speak with media at 10am and Girard’s press conference is scheduled around one hour later.
