FBI searches US President Biden’s Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, home
Washington: The US Law Enforcement on Wednesday began a house search between President Joe Biden in Delaware, his lawyer said, in a new phase of an operation to track improperly stored classified documents.
The search was carried out in Rehoboth, which lawyer Bob Bauer said was carried out “with the full support and cooperation of the president” After a similar search, some documents were found at Biden’s home in Wilmington and a former office space in Washington DC.
The revelation is going to create tension for Biden amid celebrations of the completion of the first term. They are reportedly preparing to announce their entry into the field for the next course of action.
A special counsel has been appointed by the Justice Department for an independent investigation into the case, similar to the appointment of a special counsel to oversee the investigation into the vast stockpile of secret documents discovered at former President Donald Trump’s Florida home.
According to the White House, Biden’s problem is relatively few mistakes in collecting documents dating back to a decade ago, when he was vice president under Barack Obama.
In contrast, Trump opposed handing over hundreds of classified documents after leaving the White House in 2021.
An FBI search of his main private home in Wilmington found more documents. The Rehoboth property, which they use very little, is the third place where it is now going to be inspected by the authorities.
Bauer said in his statement that the Department of Justice “launched a search in Rehoboth without advance public notice, and we agreed to cooperate.”
