Biden, Harris meet donors for 2024 election campaign
Washington: US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris met the top 150 donor gentlemen over the weekend, including an Indian-American businessman.
The two leaders met with an aim to develop a successful strategy of raising funds for the 2024 election campaign. This information was given by the persons involved in this meeting.
Meanwhile, taking a dig at former President Donald Trump-led “MAGA (Make America Great Again Republicans”, Biden stressed on the right to abortion.
He also highlighted the importance of donors and their contribution in saving democracy. Those present in the meeting said that though the programme was not meant to raise funds, it was a fresh attempt to attract new donors.
Ajay Jain Bhutoria, an Indian-American and deputy national financial chairman of the Democratic Party, was among the 150 prominent Democratic donors who attended the meeting in Washington DC.
The campaign is believed to have set a target of raising USD 2 billion for the 2024 election campaign. Vice President Harris spoke to all donors personally one by one.
