Brampton MP ‘giving thoughts’ to contest upcoming mayoral elections
Vancouver: A Liberal Brampton MP Ruby Sahota is reportedly giving thoughts to run for mayor elections in the upcoming municipal elections.
In a recent interview, she said that she is“giving thought to a potential mayoral bid”in the forthcoming election in the city.
Sahota, a Canadian Liberal politician was first elected as a Member of Parliament in the House of Commons of Canada in 2015, winning re-election in 2019 and 2021. She also serves as a deputy government whip.
A Liberal party leader said rhat as she is receiving overwhelming response and support from her Brampton North constituents and community, MP Ruby is thinking to contest the elections, however, no decision has been made in this regard, so far.
Meanwhile, the incumbent mayor Patrick Brown is in the run for a second term in the city while Vidya Sugar Gautam, Cody Vatcher and Jermaine Chambers have also registered their intention to run for mayoral post.
