Canada’s Omicron wave of COVID-19 may have peaked: Experts
Ottawa: Chief Public Health Officer Dr Theresa Tam on Friday said that the wave of Covid-19 driven by Omicron variant, may have peaked.
Issuing a statement, she said that last year’s update of data indicates that Omicron surge would be peak in January and started receding in by February.
Meanwhile, the hospitals and intensive care units continue to be under strain due to rising demand of beds in Canada. However, Multiple Canadian provinces, including Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia, have started relaxing the restrictions in the province, imposed after exponential rise in the Omicron-driven fifth wave of the Covid-19.
