Candidates running for 2022 Municipal Election in Hamilton, so far; Check the full list

Ontario: With the last day to file nomination, August 19, is approaching quickly, several candidates have already filed their nomination in this year’s municipal election in Hamilton.

The nomination process was started on May 2, 2022, to file their nomination papers for candidates.

The Municipal elections will be held on October 24.

 

Four candidates in fray for mayoral post in Hamilton

To replace the outgoing Mayor Fred Eisenberger, four candidates are in the fray as of July 26.

Those are in the contest include, Andrea Horwath Former Ontario NDP leader, Former president of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce Keanin Loomis, Former mayor and Liberal MP Bob Bratina, Veteran taxi industry leader and immigrant from Pakistan Ejaz Butt contesting the elections.

 

Apart from this, list of candidates for councillors has also been growing since May but numbers varies from ward to ward.

Ward number 1: Ian MacPherson and Maureen Wilson

War number 2: Raquel Rakovac and Cameron Krotsch

Ward number 3: Laura Farr and Nrinder Nann, Jonathan Wasylenko and Walter Furlan

Ward number 4: Mary Louise, Alex Johnstone, Maxwell Francis, Angelica Hasbon, Pascale Marchand, Laura Taylor, Adam Oldfield, Cindy Louise, Eric James Tuck and Tammy Hwang.

Ward number 5: Sebastian Aldea, Bob Hurst, Kevin Geenen and Matt Francis

Ward number 6: Tom Jackson

Ward number 7: Scott Duvall and Ester Pauls

Ward number 8: Anthony Frisina and John-Paul

Ward number 9: Brad Clark

Ward number 10: Jeff Beattie and Maria Pearson

Ward number 11: Mark Tadeson, Nicholas Lauwers

Ward number 12: Craig Cassar, Cindy Kaye, Karl Hanley, Robert Maton and Megg Markettos,

Ward number 13: Arlene Vanderbeek

Ward number 14: Colleen Wicken, Kojo Damptey and Brian Lewis

School board trustees

Ahona Mehdi and Sabreina Dahab, former Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board students, are in the contest for school board trustee positions.

According to the information, Mehdi is running for position representing Ward number 8 and 14. While, Dahab is running from Ward number 2.

 

Apart from both, other candidates for English public school board trustees are:

Ward number 2: Andrew Smyth and Sabreina Dahab

Ward number 3: Maria Felix Miller

Ward number 4: Ray Mulholland

Ward number 5 and 10: Todd White and Nancy Silva

Ward number 6 and 9: Kathy Archer, Miranda Butler and Jay Edington

Ward number 8 and 14: Ahona Mehdi.

Ward number 11 and 12: Charlie Wamg, Amanda Fehrman and Tom Patterson

Ward number 13: Larry Masters and Paul Tut

Ward number 15: Catherine Kronas

 

Candidates for English separate school board trustees include-

Ward number 1, 2 and 15: Mark Valvasori.

Ward number 3 and 4: Ralph Agostino.

Ward number 5: Aldo D’Intino.

Ward number 6: Anthony Mari, Peter Mamer and Ellen Agostino

Ward number 7: John Daly.

Ward number 12 and 13: Phil Homerski

Ward number 8 and 14: John Valvasori.

Ward number 9 and 11: Tyler Iorio & Louis Agrro

Ward number 10: Andrea Di Nicola and Mary Angela

Till now, no one has filed their candidature for the conseil scolaire Viamonde.
