Conservatives will continue focus on cost of living in new year, says Andrew Scheer
Ottawa: Opposition leader Andrew Scheer said that the Conservative MPs will focus on tackling the crisis in the cost of living and quashing the carbon tax brought by the Liberals in the new year.
“Making life easier for Canadians will be our top priority in 2023,” he said. He said that inflation is so high that everything is on fire. Scheer also alleged that inflation has risen to such an extent due to the lavish spending of the Liberals.
When asked about his climate plan to replace the carbon pricing system, Scheer, instead of giving a direct answer to this question, said that Trudeau has been prime minister for seven years and he does not think that any concrete climate plan has been presented by him. A tax plan has been introduced by the Trudeau government that has failed to reduce greenhouse gas leakages.
“We will focus reducing emissions through incentives rather than doing something on this side by raising the prices of daily use items for Canadians. We will stay focused on fighting that inflation,” he said.
