Father of Indian boy shot dead in Canada, seeks loan waiver from government
New Delhi: The father of Indian student, who shot dead during a robbery attempt in Canada’s Toronto early this month, has sought loan waiver from the government that he took to send his son to study in Canada.
He was studying management in Canada and was killed by assailants during a robbery attempt. Kartik reached Canada in January and was working at a restaurant.
His father Jitesh Vasudev said that family had mortgaged the house and gold ornaments to send Kartik to Canada for higher education and now they are in deep debt.
He, while handing over a demand letter to District Magistrate RK Singh, who visited his house said that the government must ensure that the loan is waived and also gave a government job to his younger son on compensation ground.
