India’s Harnaaz Sandhu crowned Miss Universe 2021
New Delhi: The 21-year-old from Chandigarh, representing India at the 70th Miss Universe 2021, won the 70th Miss Universe, topping a field of some 80 contestants held in Eilat, Israel.
Harnaaz Sandhu brought home the crown, 21 years after Lara Dutta won the title in 2000.
The contest was touched by politics and the pandemic.
The previously reigning Miss Universe, Andrea Meza of Mexico, crowned her successor, a Bollywood actress, in the Israeli Red Sea resort town of Eilat.
