Mayor Patrick Brown acquitted in case of using city staff in his political campaign
Ontario: Mayor Patrick Brown has been acquitted by the Brampton Integrity Commissioner of charges of using city staff in his political campaign and an investigation has also been terminated.
On June 9, a media report accused Brown of using city staff for in his political campaign.
After this, an investigation was started by Brampton’s integrity commissioner. “We have not found any evidence to suggest that the mayor has breached the Code of Conduct,” the Brampton Integrity Commissioner said in a statement on Thursday.
In a statement, Brown said that after the Integrity Commissioner gave him a clean chit, it has been proved that he has done nothing wrong. Therefore, those who have made such baseless allegations against him and the city staff should apologize. All these fabricated stories were politically motivated and the entire investigation was nothing but a waste of taxpayers’ money.
