The accident took place around 6:30 p.m. on McLaughlin Road on Ray Lawson Boulevard, north of Highway 407. The injured girl was taken to a trauma centre.

Her condition is said to be critical but stable. Peel police said the vehicle involved in the incident was present on the spot.

There was no information from the police on whether charges have been framed against anyone or not. Roads in the area were closed for inspection but were later opened.
