Texas man sentenced to death for murder of turbaned Sikh police officer Sandeep Dhaliwal
Houston: Killer Robert Solis has been sentenced to death for the murder of Sandeep Dhaliwal, the first turbaned Indian-American Sikh police officer in the US state of Texas in 2019.
This decision was given by a panel jury made up of citizens. Solis did not respond after hearing the sentence.
After the verdict, On September 27, 2019, the Harris County Department paid tribute to the former cop and said that deputy Sandeep Dhaliwal was fatally shot while conducting a traffic stop. He was known for his sense of humor and ability to make personal connections with his fellow deputies and the community he served. Gone but never forgotten.
