‘Threat of nuclear attack looming for first time since Cold War, Putin is not joking’: Biden
Washington: The US is surrounding Russia on every front over the attack on Ukraine. Putin and Biden have been seen many times on this issue. Now once again US President Joe Biden has mentioned the Ukraine-Russia war. Biden has said that for the first time since the Cold War, the threat of nuclear war is looming again in the world.
He said that he is looking for a way to stop Russian President Vladimir Putin over the Ukraine conflict. Biden has also expressed concern over the use of nuclear weapons and threats from Russia.
Threat of nuclear weapons
US President Joe Biden attended a fund raising event in New York, where he referred to the war between Ukraine and Russia. “For the first time since the Kennedy and Cuban missile disasters in 1962, we can see great war-like possibilities. During this time, Biden also mentioned Putin’s threats to use nuclear weapons. Biden said Putin was not joking by threatening nuclear weapons over the occupation of Ukraine.”
Earlier, Biden, while talking to his party supporters, had talked about the threat posed by nuclear weapons and strongly objected to it. Biden targeted Putin at the event, saying that Russia is left with fewer options in the ongoing war in Ukraine, so Putin is talking about the use of nuclear weapons. This is the reason why such an attack is constantly being threatened by Russia.
Biden expressed concern here, saying that even if there are small nuclear attacks in Ukraine by Russia, their impact in a limited area will be very far-reaching. Once this happens, there will be a risk of a wider conflict. Earlier, many experts had said that Russia could use small-scale nuclear weapons in the war against Ukraine which has been threatened many times.
